Welcome! I'm Naomi Buckeridge, the owner of Ginkgo Occupational Therapy and an occupational therapist with 11+ years of experience. Since graduating with a Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) from Curtin University (WA) in 2012, I've worked in mental health and paediatric settings. I have experience working with autistic children, ADHDers, PDAers (pathological demand avoidance), children with sensory processing challenges and children with developmental delays.
I prioritise building meaningful relationships and foster collaboration with children and their caregivers. I place great value on the use of neurodiversity-affirming practices, and leverage resources and training developed by the neurodivergent community. All are welcome at Ginkgo OT.

I am passionate about taking a collaborative and empowering approach to occupational therapy, as I understand that caregivers are the experts in their children's lives. I encourage caregivers to be present and participate in sessions, and I aim to provide practical and functional strategies that can easily fit into busy lives. I also value working with other people involved in your child's life to provide holistic therapy plans. My goal is to provide fun and enjoyable sessions – children learn best when they are regulated and having fun. I believe in providing accommodations and developing skills to support your child to meet their goals, instead of changing your child. I place importance on creating a safe environment that accommodates your child's needs.
The ginkgo tree is over 200 million years old and symbolises resilience, endurance and strength.
The unique leaves of the ginkgo symbolise the diverse needs of my clients. My approach fosters growth and nurtures the individual strengths of the children I work with.
